Candle Making classes with a sustainable difference
Join us for a candle making class using soy wax and reusable glass containers.
Led by our resident candle maker and Sustainability expert, Hayley, you can expect:
- Learn how to create your own eco-friendly candles using natural ingredients and reusable materials,
- Understand how we created a fully circular business model eliminating waste from the luxury of home fragrances
- Discover the fascinating history of candles, the best choice of materials and the basics of creating soy wax candles, including how to choose the right wick, how to prepare your wax and fragrances, and tips for using reusable glass containers.
- Make two candles, one of which you will take home for yourself the second will be an upcycled candle donated to survivors of domestic violence to light up their new home.
Whether you're a seasoned crafter or simply looking to live more sustainably, this workshop is a great way to learn new skills and connect with like-minded people.
After the workshops
- Candles will need to be collected after the workshop, allowing a few hours for them to set.
- Once you finish using your candle at home, you can swap it for a new candle 30% cheaper (or $12 off any candle in the CandleXchange collection).
Pricing
$80 per person including one hour workshop and all materials and resources needed.
You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks.

You have the choice of a hosting a group workshop in our warehouse at Brookvale (Min 8 people, can cater for you to 20 guests) or register to join a workshop at the Banish Sustainability Hub in Haymarket (up to 15 guests)

Candle Making in Haymarket
Join us at the Banish Sustainability Hub a space that hosts a range of interactive exhibits and workshops focused on topics such as plastic reduction, recycling, waste reduction, composting, and zero waste living.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about sustainable practices and take action to reduce their environmental impact. It will also feature a marketplace with over 65 Australian brands and be the home to the nationwide BRAD program.
